A father’s love for his son knows no bounds…

Two children, bundled in winter clothing, playing in a snowy landscape with leafless trees covered in snow, one pulling a sled.

...and Michael Aust’s devotion to Chris is a shining example.

When Christopher Aust was three, Debbie, his mother, and Michael, his father, knew they had aserious challenge in front of them. As the owner of a small business in Downtown Medford Oregon, Debbie already struggled to find enough hours in the day to keep the modest store running.

The answer was painful, but obvious: Michael would stop working and care for Chris at home. They loved their son, and would do whatever it took, including tightening their belts.

Then, after more than 13 years of struggle and sacrifice, the Austs discovered IMPACT. One call and Trevor & Gina set things in motion. Michael was quickly awarded 200 hours a month in financial compensation for the work he was already doing.

The added income has allowed Michael to make some much needed additions and changes in their home and personal life that vastly improved Christopher’s education. Michael and Chris both feel IMPACT is a big reason for Chris’ success.

Today, Chris is thriving, working on his art, learning daily responsibility by helping with his brother, who is also disabled, and enjoying the camaraderie and confidence building-experience of team sports, as top member of his high school wrestling team. Chris & Michael are grateful to be making an IMPACT!
